  1. When I think of what houses they broke down I can’t understand why they think this house is worth a second chance….The roof of the house behind is in a terrible state. Do they also demolish it? The rain must have done a lot of damage inside.

    • Did you click the link to see the post I did at the House with more pix? I agree with you 100% about this house. I can’t believe they inspected it as many times as they did & still think it can be saved.

      • Thank you, I found your article. So this is one house not two. On my opinion it is far beyond any repair. The foundation is bad and all the wooden parts seem very rotten. “Repairing” such house means building it completely new. I can’t imagine how they will do this with 17000 Dollars even if they do every work on their own. Apart from all the wooden beams that have to be removed and rebuilt they have to buy for completely new water pipes and the house needs new electric installations, a new heating system, new doors and windows … forget about it. 17k is a joke. it is nothing. You won’t even see anything if you spend 17k.

        • That’s why I’m going to be keeping track of their progress. Here’s what I think: the other property that they both own in Elyria was also a State of Ohio forfeiture house. Perhaps they were able to do improvements on the cheap to that house and thought they could do the same thing here. Really, there are 17,000 better uses for their $17,000. In Lorain, you could buy a liveable house for $17,000!

  2. If there are such cheap houses in a liveable state I can’t understand why the bought this one. I love old houses, but this is really beyond repair. I hope you keep us updated on what these home owners are doing. I’m really curious about it.

Whatcha think?
