The old “Colony” Bar on the corner of Colorado and Kansas Avenue on the East Side. I know it has been renamed many times. But, that is what I remember it by.
Hi Lisa. Well, I’m not sure what you would term a ‘decent place’ — I’m talking 1969 to about 1972 time period. That was back in the day when the guys at the bar could just keep drinking and the barmaids just kept pushing the drinks. I never liked going there as a younger person because I didn’t drink and stil don’t drink alcohol. But, when your friends do, it is more difficult to socialize without going to some places you really aren’t too comfortable being in. I think there was some music and dancing there and some food, but really not what you would call a food place at all from what I remember.

Hmmm…maybe I should have called this “another new name”. Don’t remember The Colony. Was it a decent place then?
