I think if memory serves I was told that this was at one time the residence of Mayor Braun but there were two Mayor Brauns Otto and Edward Otto was 1886-188 and Edward was 1934-38 I think possibbly this house fits the 2nd Mayors decade a little closer as it looks llike it was built in the 20′s but it has been a deteriorating multi rental for as long as I have lived here unfortunately……..
Always has been one of my favorite old Lorain houses. Hate that every window covering there is now a bed sheet, but I guess those are better than foreign flags.
You would probably be able to find something about the house and its people at the Black River Historical Society or the Lorain Public Library. Maybe Paul has a story to share. I’ve always wondered if the house is haunted.
when iwas a kid liveing there all the kids that lived around there wanted to come in and look around for ghost i was liveing there when jfk was shot thare were all these people standing in the back yard crying when they said he had died
I have lived there also, and let me tell you, that place is haunted! That is the house that made my skeptic fiance believe in ghosts. He wouldn’t go into the kitchen for a week because he swore up and down that there was a girl in there. One time a lipgloss of mine came flying out of the bathroom and hit him in the forehead, no one was in that bathroom. So many times I would put something down (like on a counter) and turn around for 2 seconds and when I turned back, the object was way on the other side of the room. It never scared me (it did my fiance though), I found it to be interesting. I plan on doing research about this home. When I find anything out I will share the info!
I don’t know. He told me that he originally thought it was me at passing glance because I have very fair skin and long hair. He said that, that is what she looked like. But he realized about 10 seconds after he first saw the girl that it wasn’t me because he did not hear the door open that seperates the kitchen and living room. That door was LOUD when you would open it. He said when he realized it, he turned back to look at the girl again and all he seen was her hair wooshing back like she pulled her head back around the corner very fast.
Do you know if someone died there? It might help me out in my little hunt if you could share some info!

Hi Paul. Thanks for checking out Lorain 365! When you lived here, was it a single family home?
late 50′s early 60′s
I was wondering if anyone has dug up any early history on this house?
